SANTA BARBARA, California, Feb. 8, 2018. — Seven young designers, winners of the Airtime Watertime 2017 International Floater design contest, recently received a Floater wetsuit crafted from their own amazing design.
“We had entries from 150 kids from all over the world—in Europe, in Asia, the Pacific Rim,” said Ruth Wishengrad, Vice President of Airtime Watertime. “The contest was very competitive. In the end, the seven suits with the highest vote counts were chosen as winners.”
There were four winners from the United States—Adelina from Goleta, CA; Jenna and Sadie from Santa Barbara, CA; and Sophie from Yuma, AZ— and three winners from Asia and the Pacific—Worth "Little Picasso" from Manila, Philippines; and Linh and Hoàng from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
“Each winning artist received a Floater wetsuit made from their own creative design,” said Wishengrad. “The winners loved it.”
The Airtime Watertime® Floater™ is a new kind of wetsuit that adds buoyancy to a swimmer and allows people to swim faster with half the effort or to easily tread water. "It helps kids and adults have the confidence in swimming while also reducing our environmental impact on the reefs of the world,” added Mark Okrusko, owner of Airtime Watertime.
